The Missing Key to AI Automation Tools Today…

The Missing Key to AI Automation Tools Today…

The Answer?

Systems Thinking.

Maybe an obvious answer. Maybe too abstract of an answer that makes no sense. But we believe this is the missing key to why there hasn’t been a larger transition to using AI automation workflow tools like Zapier and Make, or even building your own ChatGPT agents to reduce the amount of hours in your current workload. 90% of automation initiatives fail due to technical difficulties. The largest challenge in implementing automation being the “mapping of complex processes” a.k.a. our systems are broken and unclear.

To bring context to our theory, let’s first break down the definition of a system.

What is a System?

A System, in its simplest form, is really 3 components:

  1. Purpose

  2. Elements

  3. Interconnectedness

Take the human body. It’s purpose is to support and sustain our life as a human being. Its elements consists of all internal and external body parts e.g. lungs, heart, arms, legs, etc. And the interconnectedness between all of these elements is what makes the human body function as it does!

When you realize how powerful systems are and how they are the origin of how we function in our day to day, you start to see systems everywhere you go. And that ‘systems thinking’ led to the beginnings of CampfireOS. Now back to why this is the missing key.

Applying Systems Thinking to AI

Take popular AI tools like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Zapier. If we apply the same breakdown of a system’s definition to current AI tools, it looks like this:

Sample Use Case: Let’s say I wanted to automate my content posting and scheduling to various social platforms.

OpenAI
  • Purpose ✅: The user brings the purpose with them by providing the purpose directly in the chat. In this case — refer to my sample use case of wanting to automate my scheduling and posting of my social content.

  • Elements ✅: ChatGPT then responds with the elements and steps the user needs to implement this purpose. Refer to output below for the elements ChatGPT provides.

  • Interconnectedness ❌: But ChatGPT does not provide a deeper explanation of how these elements are interconnected and what exact tools to use to connect these elements. In other words, it’s not easy for an average user to act on the elements provided in the answer. In the use case below, the answer is at such a high level and based on a variety of pathways that it requires the user to do much more research into each option to implement their purpose.

Perplexity AI
  • Purpose ✅: Same occurs with Perplexity AI’s search engine. A user types in their exact purpose in Perplexity’s search engine.

  • Elements ✅: And Perplexity will respond with either a high level overview of elements that answers that user’s question/purpose or responds with a list of resources the user can browse through to figure out those elements (as seen below).

  • Interconnectedness ❌: But in referencing these various resources, there is still a lack of clarity on how the elements are interconnected. Multiple resources will just reference various different ways you can go about automating your content posting. But yet again, it is still not easy to know exactly which path to take and how to implement as an average user.

Zapier
  • Purpose ❌: With Zapier, the template workflows provided do not really reference or are geared towards a larger purpose. So even if a user types in their exact purpose into Zapier, you need to think in terms of tools and elements that you want to use rather than a higher level workflow. In the use case below, for example, you may not use Google Sheets or Vista Social or RSS Feeds but those are the only options to work with.

  • Elements ✅: As mentioned, what Zapier is really good at is providing access to different elements that users can integrate with. As seen in the use case below, it is easy to find a workflow that connects between RSS to Google Sheet but what if you prefer not to use a Google Sheet?

  • Interconnectedness ✅: What makes Zapier one of the best automation tools is its ability to provide the interconnected steps between elements within a specific workflow. A user does not need to learn how to interconnect the elements, but rather just provide their user input and respective information.

As you can see above, it’s clear that none of these AI tools truly form a complete “system” based on the 3 components we broke down earlier. And if we link all of this back to the largest challenge behind implementing automation being ‘Mapping Out Complex Processes’, it makes sense why something is missing in current AI automation tools and AI tools that help kickstart automation. But now you might be asking how having a tool that is grounded in ‘Systems Thinking’ actually solves the problem…🤔

CampfireOS = AI + OS

CampfireOS is our answer to this problem. A platform that guides you in a “systems thinking” manner, but also is powered by AI to give you the flexibility to scale your campfire to a wider audience. This is how CampfireOS works on a high level:

Step #1 — Document: Use our tool to turn your manual guide, framework, system, “way of doing things” into a step-by-step broken down format. Provide key fill-in-the-blank inputs to require from users so they can easily use your template right way.

Step #2 — Systemize: Power your step-by-step list with interactive AI shortcuts. If there is a step in your system that could be more efficient with AI or better supported with AI, power it up by adding one of our optional ‘shortcuts.’

Step #3 — Sell: Sell your new reusable living, breathing system template on our marketplace. Make it easy for your current consumers to use the knowledge that you share with them more actionable, and scale your knowledge to potentially thousands of other new customers who need your exact way of doing things.

Bringing this full circle, we were sure to have CampfireOS provide all 3 components of a system:

  1. Purpose ✅ — What’s unique about how we surface ‘purpose’ in our product is that the purpose is not defined by us and crowdsourced from the public. We realized that there are thousands of different ways to solve a given problem, and different people will have different preferences in their solution/approach. We want to be the middleground between too many options that ChatGPT and Perplexity provides and the constraints that Zapier provides.

  2. Elements ✅ — Our approach to elements is the same as purpose. The elements that you provide in your step-by-step system is completely unique to the elements someone else may choose to solve the same given problem. Hence the elements coming from none other than you!

  3. Interconnectedness ✅ — This is where our focus lies on the most. Typically, most step-by-step processes are documented on paper with no other function to it. Or on the other end of the spectrum, the step-by-step processes are constrained to certain elements that a tool provides (e.g. Zapier). But there must be a more actionable and easier ways to copy a manual template or guide and just plug in your own information to customize it your way. Copying and pasting just doesn’t work anymore. So we’ve come up with interactive AI shortcuts that make it super easy to turn any of your steps into living, functional tasks.

The World’s your Oyster with CampfireOS

Now that you have the context behind the OS in CampfireOS, we want you to imagine all the knowledge you could monetize by turning it into operating systems. Here’s some inspiration to spark your imagination:

  • Regimens — your skincare routine, your go-to-bed routine to get 8 hours of sleep, your fitness routine

  • Frameworks — your LinkedIn framework, your project management framework

  • How Tos —your unique recipes, your step-by-step guide of how to xyz, etc.

  • Operations — your content posting system, your personal budgeting system, etc.

The world’s your oyster when you start to apply systems thinking to all of the knowledge you have. At the end of the day, we just want everyone to embrace their uniqueness and the perspective they bring to the world because that’s what ultimately creates true abundance. We want to create the world’s largest knowledge sharing ecosystem and a new form of income through this ecosystem.

One more thing…if you’ve read this far down, we are inviting a small exclusive group of people to be the first to create a system on CampfireOS and sell it on our marketplace. If you have an interesting use case and system that you want to create with us, please get in touch at hello@campfireos.com. Can’t wait to hear what knowledge you are sharing with the world. Otherwise, if you haven’t yet joined the waitlist, subscribe for live updates on the public launch at campfireos.com. Happy camping y’all!
